M3 is an intermediate class of students aged 9 - 11 years.
There are five boys and one girl, all with varying abilities.
Self-control, respect, communication and co-operation are all expected
and rewarded.
Literacy and numeracy are taught explicitly within the class program.
Social skills and health and hygiene have a high priority and are
incorporated into the daily timetable. Students are learning how
to make healthy and nutritious food choices. Visiting the local
shopping centre is to provide opportunities for students to interact
appropriately with the public alongside their peers. The use of
money is an important feature of their task.
Students are studying Australian mammals. This will include
learning about their diet, habitat and how their environment can best be
maintained.
