S3 is composed of 5 students with disabilities including Intellectual
Impairment, Autism and Physical Impairment. Their ages range from
15 - 18 and they are developing the skills and attributes needed when
they leave school and operate in the wider community.
The focus of the class is developing work skills and being healthy and
active. The class program includes delivering and collecting
classroom rolls and ensuring the whole school has adequate supplies of
clean towels, tea towels and washers. Students enjoy the
opportunity to help the school community and interacting with teaching
staff when collecting rolls and laundry. They not only learn
skills like washing, hanging and folding washing, but also learn to
communicate with adults in a supportive work environment.
When not working in the classroom or around the school students enjoy a
game of cricket or basketball.
