In March 2006 we commenced work on the new covered walkway that joins H block with the rest of the school. Finally we can move around the school without umbrellas on those wet days.
The new multi-media room is taking shape. Its located in the old courtyard space between the library and the music therapy rooms.
The fort in the intermediate playground got a fresh coat of paint and upgrade in 2005
One of the bigger projects in 2005 was the development of the courtyard area outside D BLock.
Lots of volunteer help made this project possible. The finished product looks fantastic and is enjoyed by the intermediate students every day.
The school and its grounds always look good, no matter what the time of year. Here we are touching up the sign at the front of the school.
In July 2006, preparations began for the installation of our new building in the area between the back of D block and the fort.
Our new building arrived - in 5 separate parts - ready to be put together. It was an exciting day.
Here is a view of the work on the new building from the front of the school. You can see it from over the rooftops as it is being lifted into place.
The first part of the building was lifted up and over the tree tops by crane.
As each part of the new building was lowered into place, a team of workmen connected it all together. It was fascinating to watch and kept the students entertained (from the safety of the oval) during playtime.
It took just one day for the new building to be put together but it is still not finished. There is still a verandah and a covered ramp to be built and then the power and the water have to be connected before our building is ready to use.
